Until we have changed attitudes to meetings, we won’t be able to change the way in which they work, because part of the reason they are as they are is because that’s how they expect them to be.

So the first thing we need to do is tackle the way that we think of meetings so that we can begin to change the way in which we approach them,

meetings are good, they actually make us feel good. They make us feel as if we are part of a team and that we are contributing and they make us feel that we are being kept informed and we know what’s going on and are a part of what’s going on.

we’re going to make our meetings effective, we need to spend a little bit more time on the way in which we prepare for meetings.

And the first thing you need to spend time on is: what the purpose is of your meeting.

So they need to know whether you are wanting them to come to a decision or whether you are only wanting them to discuss things so that you can come to a more informed decision.

top and think, ‘at the end of this meeting, how do I want it to be, what do I want people to have committed to do, and how do I want people to be reacting as a result of the things we’ve discussed in the meeting?
