Carrie Karasyov

Carrie Doyle Karasyov was born in New York City. Upon graduation from Barnard College, where she majored in Russian Language and Literature, Carrie worked in the features department of Harper's Bazaar. In 1995, Carrie moved to Moscow, Russia, to help launch the Russian edition of Harper's Bazaar. The following year, she became founding Editor-in-Chief of the Russian edition of Marie Claire. After two years, Carrie left and moved part time to New York City and part-time to Fontainbleau, France, where her fiancé (now husband) was getting his M.B.A.Carrie reunited with Jill Kargman, her friend from the Spence School and the Taft School, and together they wrote the movie Intern, which premiered at Sundance in 1999. What followed were sales of screenplays to Paramount, Showtime, Oxygen, Nickelodeon, and other studios. Carrie and Jill were frustrated that nothing was being made, so they turned their script The Right Address into a novel. It became a national bestseller.Wolves in Chic Clothing followed, and then Carrie and Jill turned a script they had sold to Paramount into their first teen book, Bittersweet 16. Summer Intern and Jet Set followed that. In addition, Carrie wrote The Infidelity Pact on her own.After France, Carrie lived in London and then spent five years in Los Angeles before returning to New York City where she currently lives with her husband and her two sons, James and Peter. She is working on her seventh book, a mystery, and also writes frequently for Town & Country.
