God gives a humble, ordinary man named Arthur Mercado a bunch of tests: 51 heart procedures, 36 radiation treatments, two outer-body-experiences, and stage four Parkinson's, among others. Along the way, Arthur raises his daughter Mindy as a single parent and has four loving grandkids who nickname him "Papa Cado."
Arthur passes every test with a smile and a wink. He knows God will never give him more tests than he can handle. I had the honor of knowing Arthur, who passed recently at 72, peacefully, among family and friends.
