Reasons why I can't have more pocket money according to Mum and Dad:
1) Because money can't buy happiness (true, but it does mean you can be miserable in comfort.)
2) Because Dad is a teacher, not a multi-millionaire.
3) Because when he was my age he only got 15p a year, blah blah blah
4) Because if I got extra money, my sister would have to get some too, or it wouldn't be fair.
5) Because if I'm so desperate, why don't I get a paper round or something?
6) Because it's time I learned that money doesn't grow on trees (if only!).
