Amy smiled as she heard that his day had been good. She was glad to hear that. She was always happy when her dad had a good day. “I'm glad to hear that,” she spoke and smiled at him brightly.
“Later? Okay. I do have something to do for work anyway,” she said, but then she frowned. “You want to show me something?” she asked surprised. It wasn't the fact that he wanted to show her something, but that it was in the bedroom.
She followed him upstairs and asked herself what he would show her. What was more important than the stuff she had to do for school?
Frank ushered her into the bedroom, closing the door behind them. “Here we go sweetie, in here.” The double-bed in the centre of the room was neatly made, and he sat down on it. Amy stood in front of him, smiling sweetly, no doubt wondering why he had invited her into the bedroom.
«Now, Amy, I do have something very important to tell you. Why don't you come and sit on my lap, and I'll be able to whisper it in your ear. It's a secret, you see.” Amy hadn't sat on his lap like that for a couple of years, and he could see that she was confused.
“Daddy, what's going on?” she asked and walked over to him. She didn't mind sitting on his lap, but it felt a little awkward since this was the first time she had done so in a while.
She sat in his lap, wiggling a little to make herself comfortable. Any doubts that he had were now gone. He was going to make her his.
