    The sun has long been set,
    The stars are out by twos and threes,
    The little birds are piping yet
    Among the bushes and the trees;
    There’s a cuckoo, and one or two thrushes,
    And a far-off wind that rushes,
    And a sound of water that gushes,
    And the cuckoo’s sovereign cry
    Fills all the hollow of the sky.
    Who would go ‘parading’
    In London, ‘and masquerading’,
    On such a night of June
    With that beautiful soft half-moon,
    And all these innocent blisses?
    On such a night as this is!

    Love, faithful love, recalled thee to my mind –
    But how could I forget thee? Through what power,
    Even for the least division of an hour,
    Have I been so beguiled as to be blind
    To my most grievous loss? –That thought’s return

    For oft, when on my couch I lie
    In vacant or in pensive mood,
    They flash upon that inward eye
    Which is the bliss of solitude;
    And then my heart with pleasure fills
    And dances with the daffodils

    I wandered lonely as a cloud
    That floats on high o’er vales and hills

    There is a change – and I am poor;
    Your love hath been, nor long ago,
    A fountain at my fond heart’s door,
    Whose only business was to flow;
    And flow it did; not taking heed
    Of its own bounty, or my need.
    What happy moments did I count!
    Blest was I then all bliss above!
    Now, for that consecrated fount
    Of murmuring, sparkling, living love,
    What have I? shall I dare to tell?
    A comfortless and hidden well.
    A well of love – it may be deep –
    I trust it is, – and never dry:
    What matter? if the waters sleep
    In silence and obscurity.
    – Such change, and at the very door
    Of my fond heart, hath made me poor

    The heavens laugh with you in your jubilee;
    My heart is at your festival,
    My head hath its coronal,
    The fullness of your bliss, I feel – I feel it all

    😭 que bonitoooo

    A slumber did my spirit seal,
    I had no human fears:
    She seem’d a thing that could not feel
    The touch of earthly years

    Un sueño selló mi espíritu,
    No tenía miedos humanos:
    Ella parecía una cosa que no podía sentir
    El toque de los años terrenales

    And Betty’s standing at the door,
    And Betty’s face with joy o’erflows,
    Proud of herself, and proud of him,
    She sees him in his travelling trim;
    How quietly her Johnny goes.
    The silence of her idiot boy,
    What hopes it sends to Betty’s heart!
    He’s at the guide-post – he turns right,
    She watches till he’s out of sight,
    And Betty will not then depart

    – I’ve heard of hearts unkind, kind deeds

    With coldness still returning;

    Alas! the gratitude of men

    Hath oftener left me mourning.
